The Glendale Narrows Riverwalk is a riverfront recreational area on Glendale’s border that is to be completed in three phases. Phase I, which is scheduled to open on December 12th, includes two small parks, and equestrian facility, a public art project, and a half mile of recreational trail. Phases II and III will expand the recreational trail, and add a bridge across the river for direct access to Griffith Park. Several community outreach meetings helped define the design criteria for the one mile stretch of Glendale’s riverfront. Easy access, plenty of parking, and safety were the key points brought up by pedestrian, cyclists and equestrian users.
