FRIDAY…
.A COLD LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE DOWN THE CALIFORNIA NEVADA
STATE LINE OVERNIGHT WEDNESDAY. AT THE SAME TIME STRONG SURFACE
HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD INTO THE GREAT BASIN. THESE TWO SYSTEMS
WILL ALIGN IN A WAY FAVORABLE FOR A VERY STRONG OFFSHORE WIND
EVENT STARTING LATER WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND LASTING INTO FRIDAY
AFTERNOON. STRONG AND DAMAGING WINDS ARE EXPECTED FOR THE
MOUNTAINS…VALLEYS AND COASTAL AREAS OF VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES
COUNTIES. RESIDENTS IN THE WARNING AREA ARE ADVISED TO TAKE
PRECAUTIONS NOW BEFORE THE WINDS REACH THEIR PEAK. CLOSE ALL

HIGH WIND WARNING…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT WEDNESDAY
NIGHT TO NOON PST FRIDAY. THE HIGH WIND WATCH IS NO LONGER IN
EFFECT.
* WINDS…NORTHEAST 35 TO 50 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 60 MPH…STRONGEST
BELOW PASSES AND CANYONS AND IN THE HILLS.
* TIMING…WINDS WILL INCREASE WEDNESDAY NIGHT THEN REMAIN VERY
STRONG AND GUSTY THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING…EXCEPT FOR A PERIOD OF
SLIGHTLY WEAKER WINDS THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND EARLY THURSDAY
EVENING.
* IMPACTS…THESE VERY STRONG WINDS WILL BE CAPABLE OF DOWNING
TREES AND POWER LINES…KNOCKING DOWN OUTDOOR OBJECTS…CREATING
FLYING DEBRIS…AND CAUSING DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS
ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES.

A HIGH WIND WARNING MEANS A HAZARDOUS HIGH WIND EVENT IS EXPECTED
OR OCCURRING. SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS OF AT LEAST 40 MPH OR GUSTS
OF 58 MPH OR MORE CAN LEAD TO PROPERTY DAMAGE.
